Risk factors for infectious keratitis - a literature review

Introduction and purpose 
 Infectious keratitis represents the leading cause of corneal blindness worldwide, particularly in developing countries. Both risk factors etiological patterns vary between economically developed regions, with bacterial predominance former fungal latter. This review aims to provide an updated overview relation infectious keratitis.
 Description state knowledge is a painful potentially vision-threatening ophthalmic condition characterized by decreased vision, photophobia eye redness. In severe cases, it may require hospital admission for intensive medical treatment or surgical interventions. It can be caused wide array organisms, including bacteria, fungi, viruses, parasites polymicrobial infection. The most commonly observed predisposing include contact lens wear, trauma, ocular surface diseases, post-corneal surgery systemic local immunosuppression. Manual workers construction agricultural industry, exposed vegetative matter, organic materials animal products are at risk. Higher rate incidence also regions poor environmental personal hygiene, low level education, access sanitation healthcare facility.
 Summary Persistent prevalence both countries makes serious problem. Prevention, proper diagnosis effective crucial positive visual outcome.
